In compiling these experiences, we learned that there were many different ways people first heard about essential oils. The most common were:
  1. From a friend or neighbor.
  2. At a class, presentation, workshop or seminar.
  3. From a massage therapist, nurse, or yogi.
  4. Through their own research into natural healing modalities.
  5. From a family member or relative.
We also learned that there were several common reasons that many people gave for wanting to try essential oils. Some of the main reasons include:
  1. Someone gave them the opportunity to sample or use essential oils and they liked how they worked.
  2. Someone encouraged them to try essential oils, or shared with them the benefits they had received from using essential oils.
  3. They had a physical, emotional, or other type of problem and wanted to see if essential oils could help them.

So a friend introduced us to the Raindrop technique...the rest is history. The oils have helped him and numerous other members of my family. She shared with me the newest discovery she had tried called essential oils and what they could do to benefit ones health—plus they smelled really good, she said. Of course I just had to find out about this interesting stuff so she had my husband and I over for dinner and afterwards we left the boys in the living room to talk about ‘man’ things and we spent the whole evening smelling and talking about the oils. I had a cold for about two months, even though I was eating right, working out, etc. She suggested Thyme and Lemon. I got some Lemon tea, and some Thyme oil from a company who does not post detailed information about their oils on their web site. I asked the herbalist for a good brand of essential oil, and she suggested ‘Young Living Essential Oils’. I created a user name on the web site, then forgot all about it. A while later, I got a letter in the mail from Bonnie Muhn with a copy of the Newsletter explaining the importance of using a quality essential oil. I also got the newsletter about the ‘Thieves’ blend, and about ‘Valor. This got me interested, because the cheap oil I was using did not seem to help.

She did not give me the tape or any other info but when I started using the oils (I would just have my clients pick out the one that was right for them, muscle test them to choose or pick it out using my own intuition) I was amazed at my heightened experience of intuition regarding their body. I am very ‘visual’ when I do this work and can see things that have happened to them that created the problem in the first place, the oils made this happen very quickly and allowed me to spend less time on the ‘revealing process’ and more time on the ‘healing process’.

  • I attended a women’s brunch in my neighborhood and met...a Young Living distributor. While getting to know each other I mentioned that I was recovering from a head injury as a result of a horse accident. She insisted that I come to her house, and sent me home with several oils to begin using immediately. I began rubbing frankincense on the back of my head at the brain stem, and Aroma Siez on my temples. Before starting with the oils my recovery was excruciatingly slow. Within two weeks of beginning to use the oils ‘another veil lifted.’ That was how my neuro-surgeon...characterized what recovery would feel like—veils being lifted from my brain. My vocabulary, memory, vision, stamina, and a hundred other qualities that we normally take for granted were compromised. The oils really jump-started my recovery, and the veils continued to lift over the next year, with frankincense being the primary oil used.

I have been using the oils now for 4 years so I have many I use on a regular basis. I am a RN so what I like about the oils is that you may be taking it for one symptom, and it not only helps with that symptom, but also another. It’s the opposite with medications, you take a med for something then you have to take a second med for the side effects of the first medication, and those meds are hard on our liver and kidneys, etc.

  • I am an equine massage therapist, and with an owner’s permission I use several oils on their horse to help with particularly sore muscles. The two I use most are Wintergreen and Pine. I always take the cap off of each, and let the horse sniff the two before I use them. Eighty percent of horses prefer Wintergreen! Once I have watched their reaction to the smell and determined with oil they prefer, I rub a few drops into my hands and gently address the sore spots. Again, I am relying on the positive energetic qualities of the oils to boost the effect of the massage and the healing energy that I facilitate.

Even the dentist was surprised!
    —Kirsten Ward, Massachusetts, USA
  • LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. There is nothing that cannot be cured by Thieves as far as I am concerned. I recommend that everyone drink a cup of hot water with a drop of Thieves every day. It has all of the properties to protect against every organism that might create a problem for the immune system. It supports the immune system, it reduces inflammation (one of the main reasons we get sick) and it stabilizes glucose levels. I have even read some studies about it’s effectiveness against MRSA. I use this on fungal infections, headaches, sore throats, stomachaches, because I feel it empowers your immune system to deal with just about anything and create the magnificent healing that our body knows how to do on it’s own. The household cleaner is incredible and so are the lozenges as well.
    —Jeane Cole, Florida USA

  • Thieves works well when getting a cold. One time in particular when starting with a stuffed up nose and sore throat, a couple drops of Thieves dropped directly in the mouth which was immediately felt as the oil moved right to the sore spot in the throat. The thieves oil brought on a tingling feeling there and within a half hour the throat felt perfectly fine. It’s important to catch symptoms immediately for fast and lasting relief. Also, anytime I have a sore tooth, I put a drop of Thieves on the area. Doing this regularly takes the soreness away. In fact, each time I brush my teeth, I put one drop of Thieves on the toothbrush and haven’t had any soreness in the mouth since.

  • I do not have Valor blend to use by itself, however I use the YL blend, Chivalry, which has Valor in it. Currently, this is my favorite to wear directly. Just a drop or 2 on my forehead and nape of neck ,etc smells very nice. As a man (writing this) using this scent feels very empowering and ‘natural’. I don’t like the scent of many colognes, in fact , I have allergic reactions to most....however, I can wear YL oil blends without the ‘hives’ and still smell excellent. I also have the added health benefits that essential oils confer w/o any perfume-like overtones. For ‘hypersensitive’ people like me, this is a major plus.
    —Mark Tousley, New York, USA

I use several modalities to help them in this process. As I help them get off of medications and begin to heal their body, I use oils to uplift them and move them to a different place energetically. I still use all of the oils in the Feelings Kit, especially Forgiveness, Release, 3 Wise Men, and Hope. I love these oils and use almost all of them but use them based on what my clients needs are. Trauma Life is incredible too and I use it on any injury.

  • Grounding: excellent for patients who are too ethereal in their persona or approach; it centers them and nourishes their Earth energy (one of the Five Elements in Chinese medicine.);
AromaSiez: excellent for patients with muscular or joint pain, as well as sciatica. I find it an inexpensive alternative to PanAway, and preferable for patients who do not like the wintergreen smell in PanAway.
