The Vita-Flex Roller or "Relax-a-Roller" is a foot and body massager designed specifically to imitate Vita-Flex pressure point therapy. Vita-Flex is a therapy developed by Stanley Burroughs in the late 1920's. The technique is based on the principle that by activating a pressure point, another part of the body may be affected. Any area of the body can thus be affected by the proper activation of reflex points located throughout the body. Stanley Borroughs found this to be a very effective massage treatment and wanted to make this more available to the public. From this desire he created a foot and body massager that has become the "Relax-a-Roller".
Those people using essential oils will find that, by using the "Relax-a-Roller" after an essential oil therapy session, they will experience a marked enhancement to the oils. For example, first apply essential oils to the botttom of the foot and then roll the foot over the "Relax-a-Roller" for 30 to 60 seconds. This can also be done almost anywhere on the body, though bony areas should be cushioned with a towel (see the chart below for further examples). If the feet are too sensitive at first, a tube sock can be pulled over one end of the "Relax-a-Roller".
This tool is especially helpful to walkers, runners, sports enthusiasts, and the elderly, just to name a few. People that work while standing on their feet all day will benefit from regular use of the "Relax-a-Roller".
