From start to finish it's a winner! I buy it by the dozens(no kidding). The spiral binding, the clear insightful information and the variety of charts. This book makes beginning your essential oils journey easy and enjoyable. The index makes finding things a breeze and the way you can access the oils individually or by symptom makes it simple to find what you need and then research it more deeply. I love it , my beginner's love it and my advanced students revisit it all the time.

Some good features: excellent typeface & indexing. Personal Guide lists conditions & products that could be used. Some interesting information (French Medicinal uses, FDA classification, safety), well-organized. The authors urge caution, but the book gives no safety or protocol DETAILS. And, some of the information is incorrect. Ex: the book says it is ok to use EOs (lavender!) on cats if diluted. Reputable authors elsewhere say essential oils are toxic to cats, including lavender. Use only hydrosols on cats. USE CAUTION. If you plan to do-it-yourself, the book is a good quickie idea-reference. PLEASE find a reliable source on SAFETY. If you don't live in Europe where aromatherapists are certified, at least find a detailed reference for using EOs. I have seen good reviews for Bell's "Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals," & Tisserand's "Essential Oil Safety." There may be other sources. BE WISE. BE INFORMED. BE SAFE.
